here's a helpful guide for what takes place during our 3 or 4 Hour Sessions
Welcome to our helpful guide to understanding our HANDCRAFTED approach to hair coloring. While a conscious consultation is always a part of every session we endeavor to put our clients at ease before their visit and this guide is a great reference. At Hair Creations our appointments are booked by sessions, not services. Each session is curated to your specific hair needs and provides transparent pricing to ensure no surprises at checkout.
A general rule of thumb:

Haircuts and Styling will fall under the 1 Hour Session.

Single Palette coloring will fall under the 2 Hour Session.

Any Lightening sessions will fall under 3 Hours (or more depending on your hair wishes + dreams).
Select a longer session when:

You’re craving a Hair Color or Haircut transformation

You have very thick or very long hair

You desire additional styling that may take you over the standard allotment
At the end of your service, your stylist will recommend the ideal timing for your next session and get you scheduled in advance. Color, approach, and suitability are determined during the consultation. Hourly rate varies by stylist.
BALAYAGE
SOFT LIFT BLONDING SERVICE - Hair coloring service during which the hair is lightened, darkened, or both using either an air painting or balayage technique. Recommended for clients who prefer a more natural, sun kissed effect.

BABYLIGHTS
BRIGHT YET DIFFUSED BLONDING TECHNIQUE - Often used to brighten in the root area while still maintaining a soft grow-out. Perfect to utilize at all times but especially if definition isn't needed during the session or in tandem with balayage.
Your stylist can work with you to decide if this is a suitable technique based on your desired end result

EVEN, BRIGHT BLONDING SERVICE - While the end result of this lightening session is even from root to ends, we take
"the OG" of foiling and add a modernity to the process with placement and toning techniques to ensure a slightly softer grow-out. There's also natural color left out of the foils for depth and contrast. Perfect for clients who like to see that brightness like it's growing right from the scalp.

ROOT...
TAP, SHADOW, OR MELT, OH MY!
DEMI-PERMANENT ROOT COLOR TECHNIQUES - Your stylist will guide you on which method is best. Generally, any root toning is done to blend away highlighting that lives closest to the scalp in order to create softness and a low-maintenance grow-out.
ROOT TAP; Just a bit of color to blend away foil lines or definition at the root while maintaining most of the brightness.
ROOT SHADOW: Enough color at the root to mimic a blended, balyaged effect. Normally there's a slight cascading of color that comes down a bit more in the crown area.
ROOT MELT: The most dramatic of the root toning family, this method really blends and melds into the lightening and can add a lot more richness and dimension.

FOILAYAGE
MAXIMUM LIFT BLONDING SERVICE - Hair coloring service combining babylights, classic foiling, face-frame highlighting, backcombing, and tipping out.
Appropriate toning and demi-permanent root applications are typically used for softness, and a more ideal grow-out. This service is ideal for clients who want to achive optimal lift while maintaining softness and variations in tone and dimension similar to the effects of balayage but brighter and cooler in tone.

"WHAT IF I WANT A SHORTER SESSION SOMETIMES?"
WE LOVE THAT FOR YOU! - While we do require new clients to use our guide when booking their color session we're happy to come up with a plan that can allow for shorter sessions. All we ask is for your understanding that minimal lightening can be accomplished during a shorter session. Once you chat with your stylist you should have a clear understanding of what can be accomplished during a shorter session and which session to choose. Shorter sessions are great for busy schedules, maintaining hair health, and are budget friendly!

"How do I schedule?"
It starts with finding the stylist who you best align with aesthetically and vibrationally. Everyone has their own preferences, so we recommend taking a peek at our Hair Creations Instagram for a look at all of our stylists and start to narrow it down to your favorite. You can find each stylist’s instagram handle via the "Tribe" bio links.
Next, our sessions are based on time. Simply read the session descriptions to see which time allotment to choose based on what you’re craving. As a new client please select the longer session if you’re not certain in order to ensure the most positive experience. This gives us ample time to have a thorough consultation, in depth color, hair, and scalp care, a relaxing experience in our chair and our shampoo bowls, and plenty of time to ask questions to set you up for success while caring for and styling your new color and/or cut at home.
In addition, having the appropriate amount of time allows your stylist to do what they do best, while giving you a color and/or cut that you will love for months.

"Can you tell me more about time based pricing?"

At Hair Creations, we believe time is the most valuable part of our craft. By booking time with your stylist we ensure quality and an open approach to curating a truly customized color and/cut based on the time we have with you.

"What if I don’t want to book online or have questions before booking?"
We’re a small tribe. We typically pre-book most of our regular clients or they book online. Online booking is our preferred way to schedule to allow us more time with our in-person clients. However, we understand that some folks may prefer a friendly voice or you may simply have a question before you book your session. In those instances, we’re happy to take your call. We only ask for your patience and understanding. We might not be able to answer if all of us are with a client. If we miss your call feel free to leave us a voicemail; we promise we return our messages daily.
"What is your cancellation policy?"
Appointment bookings made online and in-salon are secured with a credit card. If you must cancel or reschedule we require a call or message at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment so that we may have an opportunity to fill the spot.
Before 24 hours: Service(s) may be canceled with no charge.
Late cancellation fee: 50% of scheduled service
Late cancellation is defined as canceling after 24 hours before your scheduled appointment.
No Show/ No Call fee: 100% of scheduled service
No Show / No Call is defined as not arriving for your scheduled appointment with no attempt to make contact with Hair Creations to cancel the appointment.
This courtesy enables the capability to schedule another client and in turn, maintains a higher availability of services for you as well as others. Please do not ask for us to make an exception. We appreciate your courtesy, understanding and respect for our livelihood..
